Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my PDF look sideways or upside-down?

PDFs store a rotation flag per page. Scanners often save landscape pages with a rotation flag set to 90° or 270°, which can confuse some viewers. Rotating the PDF "burns in" the corrected orientation so the document looks right everywhere, including on phones, tablets and printers.

Can I rotate only specific pages?

Yes. The page selector lets you apply the rotation to one page, a range (e.g. 3–7) or a custom list (e.g. 1, 4, 9). Pages you do not select are left exactly as they were in the original document.

Does rotation reduce quality?

No. ZentoPDF rotates pages by setting their rotation flag — no rasterisation, no rerendering. Text stays vector, images stay sharp and file size barely changes. The rotation is lossless and reversible.

Will form fields and annotations follow the rotation?

Yes. Annotations, form fields, links and bookmarks are bound to page coordinates, so they rotate together with the page content and stay in the correct positions in the rotated PDF.

Need a custom angle (e.g. 5°)?

Use our Custom Rotate tool: it accepts any decimal angle for fine tilt corrections. For automatic straightening of crooked scans, try the Deskew PDF tool, which measures and corrects the skew without manual input.
