Drop a single PDF onto the upload zone or browse to pick it. The file is processed locally in your browser using Ghostscript-WASM — nothing is uploaded.

PDF/A (ISO 19005) is a strict subset of PDF designed for long-term preservation: all fonts and colour profiles are embedded, JavaScript and external links are forbidden, and the file is fully self-contained. Many courts, government agencies, libraries and corporate archives only accept PDF/A for legal storage.
PDF/A-1b is the strictest and most widely accepted profile (use it for legal filings). PDF/A-2b adds support for JPEG2000, transparency and layers (a good default for modern documents). PDF/A-3b additionally allows embedded attachments (e.g. invoices with an attached XML payload — ZUGFeRD / Factur-X).
Yes. ZentoPDF runs Ghostscript compiled to WebAssembly directly in your browser tab. Your original PDF and the new PDF/A file never leave your device, which makes the tool safe for confidential legal, medical and financial documents.
All used glyphs are subset-embedded directly into the output PDF/A so the document is fully self-contained and will render identically forever, on any system, with no external font dependencies — exactly as the ISO standard requires.
ZentoPDF produces output that conforms to the PDF/A specification, but third-party certification (e.g. veraPDF) is recommended when a regulator or archive requires a formal compliance report. We recommend running veraPDF on the output before submission if your workflow demands a signed conformance proof.
